Bookings & Fees​

  1. A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking with Alex Moran Mountaineering. The deposit amount may vary depending on which package you choose.

  2. On receipt of a booking, I will honour a 24 hour period of grace in which the booking can be cancelled with full refund, thereafter, my cancellation policy applies, see cancellation clause below.

  3. The full balance must be paid 2 weeks (14 days) before the start date of your booking. If monies are not received by then I am not bound to hold your booking.

Customer Cancellations

  1. All deposits paid on booking are non-refundable.

  2. If your final balance is paid before the 2 week (14 days) due date and you cancel before this cut off, I will refund your final balance fee.

  3. In the event of cancellation less than 2 weeks (14 days) before the start date of your booking participants are liable for the full booking fee. Your insurance cover should include cancellation cover and I can provide any supporting information or documentation you require to make a claim.

Cancellations by Alex Moran Mountaineering

  1. In the event of cancellation of any booking by Alex Moran Mountaineering, participants will be offered one of the following:

    • Full refund of the fee paid and deposit; or

    • Transfer to any other date within the 1 year if available.

  2. If I am forced to cancel or curtail a booking due to strike, riots, acts of war or terrorism, natural disaster or disease epidemic, I will endeavour to provide an alternative date, but accept no liability for return of fees paid prior to cancellation or curtailment.

Risk + Safety

  1. As a walker, climber, mountaineer or scrambler, I expect and encourage you to be self reliant and accept responsibility for your own safety in the mountain or outdoor environment. I encourage you to discuss what is expected of you in terms of all aspects of safety. Whilst I ensure a high professional standard of instruction, care and safety, all participants must be aware that participation in outdoor activities involves an acceptance of objective risk and of responsibility for the consequences of one’s own actions. This is the essence of an adventure pursuit.

  2. Adventure pursuits, even when undertaken with instructors and guides, involve high levels of uncertainty and potential risk. No specific element of an advertised service can be guaranteed with certainty in such an environment. Furthermore, the safe completion of activities takes priority over the achievement of particular goals.

  3. I have an excellent safety record, however, during any adventure activity, there is potential for injury. I require that all participants read this information and understand the potential risks.

  4. All of the activities are strictly voluntary; and it is your own choice to participate in each activity to whatever degree you deem appropriate after due consideration of your own physical health, physical abilities and medical condition. You are willing to assume the risk of any medical or physical condition you may have.

  5. You should have adequate insurance to cover any injury or damage you may suffer or cause while participating, or else you agree to bear the costs of such injury or damage to yourself.  I do not provide health or accident insurance for participants.

  6. All participants are required to complete the 'Safety and Medical Questionnaire' which will be sent to you before the start date of your booking - ​​Please Note: if despite email reminders you do do not return this form, then it is deemed that you have read and understood and accepted the above statements and conditions.
     

Insurance 

  1. I hold full civil liability insurance for the activities I provide up to the value of £5,000,000

  2. You must be fully insured for the activity you are undertaking. Remember to include the travel days if applicable in the period of cover.

  4. You must bring your insurance certificates with you when attending a course or trip with Alex Moran Mountaineering.

 

Instruction

  1. I am qualified and experienced to the required level for each activity undertaken and have received training to deliver these to the highest standard. 

  2. I reserve the right to exclude any member from a participation in planned activities if he or she might endanger the success or safety of the rest of the party through lack of fitness, ill-health, poor acclimatisation or dangerous technique. No refunds will be made to members so excluded.

  3. Any members who act in contravention of the decisions or advice given during my instruction, or otherwise undertake independent activities during the period in which you are in my care will forfeit all professional protection and duty of care provided.

Data Protection​

  1. I operate in accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018, and any other applicable law amending, supplementing, modifying or otherwise relating thereto.

  2. I do not sell, rent or lease my customer information to third parties.

  3. I reserve the right to use photography and video content taken during activities on my social media sites and website but only of the event itself or with the consent of the individual.

General

  1. ​My services are available to anyone of appropriate experience in the age range 10 to 70. Young participants of 10 to 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and 17 year olds must provide a parental letter of consent. Participants over 65 years old are requested to send a Doctor's letter stating that there are no pre-existing contra-indications for the proposed activities in the participants health records. At my discretion, I may exceptionally consider participants over 70 years old provided they have the appropriate levels of fitness and skills.

  2. The information on my web-site is for guidance. I make every effort to ensure it is correct but cannot be responsible for any inaccuracies or subsequent alterations of servicers beyond my control.

  3. If you have a complaint about the service you receive at any point during your booking, you must notify me as soon as possible to give me the opportunity to put things right. 

  4. Making your booking implies that you understand and accept the booking conditions and agree to abide by them.
