Sample Itinerary
NB: This itinerary is a sample of what we could do during the course. This is subject to change due to weather, conditions and group fitness. I will always make sure that you get the most out of your course no matter what the weather and conditions are.
Day 1
09:00 - Meet at the upper car park in Coire Cas - Cairngorms National Park
(I can also collect you from your accommodation and take you to the location)
We will journey up into the Cairngorms and spend the morning working on out movement skills on rock. We will be heading up towards the Fiacaill Ridge, Grade 2 to move over some scrambling terrain using our new found movement skills. We will also start to introduce the ropework needed to tackle scrambles safely. Throughout the 4 days we will also be practising navigation and mountain safety skills.
16:30 - Return to the car park and head home for a well deserved rest!
Day 2
09:00 - Meet at the Beinn a’ Chaorainn Car Park
(I can also collect you from your accommodation and take you to the location)
Today we will head to one of the most classic ridge scrambles in the area, the East Ridge of Beinn a’ Chaorainn. This ridge will take us directly to the summit with spectacular views in all directions towards Ben Nevis and Loch Treig. We will be using the rope to move safely along this terrain and I will be teaching you all the skills needed to be safe and minimise risk. Throughout the 4 days we will also be practising navigation and mountain safety skills.
16:30 - Return to the car park and head home for a well deserved rest!
Day 3
09:30 - Meet at the upper car park in Coire Cas - Cairngorms National Park

Today, we will head into the heart of the Cairngorms to the Loch Avon basin to climb some beautiful granite rock. The day will be spent honing our skills in footwork and ropework. This valley provides incredible views into some of the wildest mountains in the UK. You won’t be disappointed! Throughout the 4 days we will also be practising navigation and mountain safety skills.
16:00 Return to the car park and head home for a well deserved rest!
Day 4
09:00 - Meet at the car park for Ben Nevis
(I can also collect you from your accommodation and take you to the location)
For the Final day we will take on a scramble up the mighty North Face of Ben Nevis to the summit. This is one of the most beautiful and imposing cliffs in the UK and we will wind our way through towering pinnacles and ridges to reach the highest point in the country. This day will be a culmination of all your hard work during the week!
16:00 - Return to the car park and head home for a well deserved rest!
