SCOTTISH ROCK ROAD TRIP

£1,950 pp

6 Nights | 2:1 Ratio

A week-long climbing expedition through some of Scotland’s most adventurous and dramatic rock venues – sea cliffs, mountain crags, and remote gems. Leave it all behind and join us for six days of unforgettable climbing in Scotland’s wilder corners. The Scottish Rock Road Trip is all about exploration, variety, and raw adventure – moving through the landscape and climbing in places that few ever reach.

  • We’ll journey throughout the Highlands and out to the coast, seeking out sea cliffs battered by waves, remote mountain faces, and hidden crags far off the beaten track. Each day brings a new location, new challenges, and new memories. This is real climbing in real places – with beautiful camping, shared meals, and a strong sense of journey tying it all together.

Please note this is a general outline – exact locations and plans may vary depending on weather, tides, and group experience.

    Day 1 – Meet & Move

09:00 – Meet in Aviemore for introductions, kit check, and trip briefing.
We’ll then hit the road and head towards our first climbing venue – typically a low-commitment coastal or roadside crag to shake out the travel and get onto the rock.
Set up our first camp, enjoy dinner together, and go over plans for the days ahead.

Focus: movement coaching, getting familiar with gear and systems, first pitches.

    Day 2 – Coastline Climbing

After breakfast, we travel to a dramatic sea cliff venue. Expect exciting climbing in a wild setting, with the sound of waves below.
We’ll look at abseil approaches, sea cliff safety, and communication, and climb some adventurous lines.

Focus: sea cliff skills, route reading, partner work, building confidence.

    Day 3 – Mountain Cragging

We head inland or higher up into the mountains today, aiming for a more remote crag. Expect a longer approach and a bigger mountain day with plenty of reward.
We’ll spend time on multi-pitch movement and ropework, and enjoy the immersion in the highland landscape.

Focus: multi-pitch techniques, efficient transitions, route-finding.

    Day 4 – Hidden Gems & Exploration

A slightly more relaxed start, then off to a lesser-known venue – a crag tucked away off the beaten path. This day is about exploration and variety, and making the most of the road trip spirit.
Shorter climbs, coaching input, or perhaps a session on self-rescue or gear placement depending on group needs.

Focus: adaptability, exploration, and specific skills development.

Day 5 – Full Adventure Day

Our biggest day of the trip. We’ll choose a venue that offers a full-value experience – committing climbing, a remote setting, and a strong sense of journey.
Early start, big approach, and memorable pitches. We’ll end the day back at camp with a shared meal and reflections around the stove.

Focus: putting it all together – independence, judgement, endurance.

    Day 6 – Final Climbs & Return

Our last morning gives us time for one final crag – often a roadside venue en route back to Aviemore.
This might be a chance to push your grade, try something technical, or just enjoy a few relaxed climbs to finish the week.
We return to Aviemore for drop-off by 17:00.

Focus: consolidation, fun, and personal challenge.
