Start your journey into the world of mountaineering with my 4-day adventure, designed for those seeking to achieve their goals. My comprehensive programme covers all aspects of mountaineering, scrambling, and hillwalking, including navigation, equipment, emergency procedures, scrambling techniques, ropework, trip planning, mountain weather, and the mountain environment. Join me for a transformative mountain experience.

NB: This itinerary is a sample of what we could do during the course. This is subject to change due to weather, conditions and group fitness. I will always make sure that you get the most out of your course no matter what the weather and conditions are.

Day 1

09:00 - Meet at the upper car park in Coire Cas - Cairngorms National Park

(I can also collect you from your accommodation and take you to the location)

The day will be a journey up into the wild landscape of the Cairngorm plateau. We will introduce the mountain environment and begin to practise mountain navigation. We will take in the summit of Cairn Gorm and discuss mountain weather and equipment. 

16:30 - Return to the car park and head home for a well deserved rest!
 

Day 2

09:00 - Meet at the upper car park in Coire Cas - Cairngorms National Park

(I can also collect you from your accommodation and take you to the location)

Day two will be spent taking on the second highest peak in the UK, Ben Macdui (1309m). We will be practising navigation and discussing proper planning and preparations for your days out in the mountains to maximise your enjoyment and safety.

16:30 -  Return to the car park and head home for a well deserved rest!

Day 3

09:30 - Meet at the Kingussie Crag car park - Cairngorms National Park

(I can also collect you from your accommodation and take you to the location)

The third day we will spend getting used to moving on rock and using basic ropework techniques to keep ourselves safe. We will also complete an abseil and gain a greater understanding of the types of terrain we may be faced with in the mountains.

16:00  Return to the car park and head home for a well deserved rest!

Day 4

09:00 - Meet at the car park for Beinn a’ Chaorainn

(I can also collect you from your accommodation and take you to the location)

Today will be spent on the majestic grade 1 ridge scramble of Beinn a Chaorainn East Ridge. We will be looking at some ropework techniques and also how to keep yourself safe on steep ground. We will also layer on some more navigation teaching and go through emergency procedures for when lost or injured in the mountains.

16:00 -  Return to the car park and head home for a well deserved rest!
